Career

2021
After winning the title at GT Open 2020, Miguel Ramos bet in a competition organized by the SRO Motorsport Group - the FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe - in a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 from Barwell Motorsport.
This competition brings together some of the most renowned manufacturers that compete in various continents through their sports programs. The 2021 season was the biggest to date in terms of the amount of Sprint and Endurance races that took place in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia.
The team chosen by Miguel Ramos was Barwell Motorsport, a team for which he had already raced in 2019 and in fact secured the AM title in the Endurance Cup.
The 2021 calendar had 10 events, 5 of them Sprint Races and the other 5 Endurance Races. This competition was created around the success of the “24 Hours of Spa”, which is recognized as one of the main events in motorsport. The result achieved in 2021 at the FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe was fantastic, as evidenced by the 3 Pole-Position, 8 victories and 15 podiums.
Halfway through the season, Miguel Ramos still had the opportunity to participate in 2 events (4 races) of the Lamborghini Super Trophy in Zandvoort and Nürburgring, having achieved 1 Pole-Position, 2 wins and 1 second place.
2021 was a brilliant sporting season with 3 titles achieved: Champion of Pro-AM Global , Champion of Pro-AM Sprint, title of teams for Barwell in Pro-AM.

2020
Miguel Ramos decided to return to Teo Martin Motorsport for the 2020 season.
Indeed, returning to Teo Martin Motorsport after winning the GT Open in 2015, to drive a McLaren of the Spanish team again with a Portuguese duo, was a successful decision.
An atypical year for the whole of society, and from which motor sport also suffered. The Championship started later, it was shortened in a race, but the will and determination of the entire platoon, was a guarantee of success and hence the prestige that the championship has gained over the years.
The Championship started with a podium in the first race of the year held in Hungaroring where the McLaren 720s team won an excellent 2nd place in Race 1 and the next day 4th place in Race 2. This good start allowed Miguel Ramos and Henrique Chaves to leave the first event in the first place of the Championship and remained there until the end, the result of an impressive regularity and the constant obtaining of good results. Ramos and Chaves obtained 6 podiums in 12 races.
With two podiums at Paul Ricard, one in Hungary, one from the victory at the Red Bull Ring, a podium at Monza and the last from the victory at SPA, Ramos wins the GT Open International for the second time, passes the barrier of the 70 podium climbs in this Championship and is at the top of the list of drivers with the most wins - "20".

2019
The car chosen to attack the 19’ season at the GT Open has been the Mercedes AMG GT3, with Crestani like in the previous season. The team that developed de car was SPS Performance, a team with recognised Technical ability with considerable experience accumulated over the years, having also won the Pro-AM category in 2018 also with a Mercedes AMG GT3.
The Championship started very well with a podium on the first weekend of the season, which denoted good competitiveness from the Mercedes AMG and drivers line-up. Such performance continued to be seen during the first part of the Championship and even after the summer break, with Ramos and Crestani always in the top five and fighting for the Championship. However in the penultimate (double-round) of the year, Ramos was not happy and both 10th and 7th place in Barcelona kept them away from the victory. Nevertheless, for the last race of the year at Monza, the drivers of the Mercedes AMG # 10, did not leave the credits for someone else and made Pole and won at Monza, finishing 5th on the Championship.
On the Blancpain, Ramos sign for Barwell Motorsport and it was a very good option because the British team delivered a very high-level Lamborghini Huracan GT3, with Ramos having won Monza and Silverstone and a second place at Paul Ricard, and with those results achieved the team’s victory on the AM Cup.
On some extra-championship events, Ramos has been at the FIA Motorsport Games in Vallelunga driving an Audi R8 GT3. On that particular event he has achieved an honorable 2nd place on Race 2 and 10th place as overall result. Also during the last race of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season, where he participated in the well-known Mercedes of SPS Performance, Ramos did not hesitate and got an excellent 2nd place on the AM Class.

2018
Participate in the International GT Open and Blancpain GT Series in the same car and team, was the strategy followed by Miguel Ramos during the 2018 season. The choice had been on a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo from the Lazarus Racing Team.
The GT Open campaign could not have started better, with five podiums at Pro-AM class, on the first five races of the season. With such results Miguel Ramos remained at the top of the Championship , although Lamborghini was losing some competitiveness in the second half of the season. Even so, getting three more podiums, ensured that he would stay in the fight for victory until the last race, and finish the season as Vice Champion at Pro-AM class, ex-1st place (with the same number of points).
The participation on the Blancpain Series had a very difficult start in Monza. Even so, excellent performances during the remaining races with a 4th place at Silverstone, 5th at Paul Ricard, and excellent 1st place at Barcelona, secured 6th place at the end of the Championship.
At the end of the year, Ramos also participated on the Gulf 12hours, an extra-championship race, where he reach the 1st place.

2017
After a difficult year in 2016 where he failed to revalidate the title with BMW, Miguel Ramos moved to AF Corse and in 2017 he presented in the International GT Open with a new Ferrari 488.
The first part of the season was fantastic with 4 podium climbs, and the first win at the third race predicted a good season. In fact, in the middle of the Championship, with a third and second place in Hungary, Ramos reached first place in the leaderboard. However, in the visit to Silverstone, some changes in terms of regulation irreparably damaged Ferrari's performance for the rest of the Championship.
Nevertheless, two more podiums in Monza and Barcelona were good finishes, thus insufficient to reach the top 3 of the Championship, remaining in the 5th position.
At the Blancpain Series, Ramos participated in the Endurance Cup with a Lamborghini from Barwell Motorsport. The start of the season in Monza was very hard for the team, as the car was involved in a chain accident at the very beginning of the race and Ramos did not even take action. A 5th place in Silverstone and an 8th in Paul Ricard can be considered excellent for a first year or participation in a so demanding and filled with constraints competition.

2016
At the International GT Open and after the last year title with Teo Martín Motorsport, it was normal for Miguel Ramos to stay on the same team.
The misfortune with the withdrawal in the first race in Estoril at the beginning of the season, marked indelibly the whole season. Miguel Ramos had to walk all season to recover points, while his main opponents were also continuing to score. In a Championship that rewards regularity, this important detail was decisive in the final result.
The three victories in SPA, Paul Ricard and the Red Bull Ring, in what were some of the 5 podium finishes this season of the GT Open, guaranteed the Portuguese driver the 4th place in the Driver Classification, but above all a strong contribution to the Team Title.
At the Renault RS01 Sport Trophy, Miguel Ramos won the Estoril race (the last one of that competition that said goodbye to the International Circuits). The 3rd place at the end of the Endurance Championship, was the result obtained by Miguel Ramos, who if had not seen the SPA's victory, being withdrawn from the "secretariat", would be a Champion with 6 points.

2015
A fantastic season for Miguel Ramos at the International GT Open 2015, culminating with the Champion title.
A new project on a new team with a new car, was no obstacle. It was the right decision to achieve such important result. The Teo Martin Motorsport and the new McLaren 650s were the correct choice, and at the end the result proves that it couldn’t have been a better option.
With tree wins, at Silverstone, Spa and Monza, but above all with impressive regularity as evidenced by the 10 podium climbs, were the guarantee for the drivers winning title.

2014
Another excellent Miguel Ramos season on the International GT Open.
Using the same V8 Racing structure, the same Corvette and the same team mate, the season have been very competitive. Miguel have been at the top of the Classification Table during all season fighting for the title.
Five victories (Nurburgring, Portimão, Hungaroring, SPA and Monza), unfortunately are not enough for the overall title ate the end of the year. Miguel keep the 2nd position and also achieve the title in terms of the Team's classification.

2013
Fantastic Miguel Ramos 2013 GT Open Season, fighting for the Championship till two races for the end.
Delighted with the V8 Racing and the Corvette in 2012, Ramos still on the same team in 2013, sharing the wheel with Nicky Pastorelli.
Starting the Championship in Paul Ricard with a retirement, the new Corvette ZR1.R, prove that are not ready enough for the battles, and the team decide get back to the old version for the second Championship venue. After that move, the results show up and that partnership get 9 podiums, with 3 victories in Algarve, Jerez and Silverstone.
Com o Corvette de 2012, Ramos sobe ao Pódio por nove vezes durante a época, onde sobressaem as vitórias no Algarve, Jerez e em Silverstone.
At the end, the second place in terms of the Driver's Championship is a very good result, so and more important, the Team's Championship victory as well.

2012
During 2012 Miguel Ramos participate on the International GT Open Championship and Spanish GT Championship. He started the season on Ferrari 458 with Raffaele Giammaria while on the Spanish GT the partner was his brother João Ramos. However after the first races he changed to a Corvette on the GT Open and a Porsche 997 on the Spanish GT.
Even before the official start of the season, Miguel Ramos was invited to join the team Kessel Racing on the Abu Dhabi 12 hours, and got the first podium of the season, with the second place on the Race, just 3 sec behind the winner, which is fantastic, on a 12 hours long distance race.
An them when the season are more Serious in both Championships, Ramos makes another 10 Podiums, with as highlights, the victories at Hungaroring (Open GT), Portimão and Valencia (Spanish GT). Overall, he finished the season with the 3rd place on the Spanish GT and the 4th place at the International GT Open.

2011
In 2011 Miguel Ramos have run two Championships, the International GT Open and the España GT Championship on a new Ferrari GT 458 with the Italian team Edil-Cris. At the International GT Open Miguel have shared the Ferrari with the italian Raffaele Giammaria, while in España GT the partner have been his brother, João Ramos.
It was the first season for the new Ferrari 458 and Miguel Ramos was repeatedly victim of the youth of the car. Nevertheless he remained in the fight for the GT Open title till the last race and had the highlight of the season, with two home victories during the Portimão and Estoril races.

2010
2010 was the year of passage from the FIA GT Championship to the FIA GT1 World Championship. Miguel Ramos continued at the Vitaphone Racing Team with a Maserati MC12.
In a championship with an undeniable competitiveness and very hard on the level of contact between cars, Ramos has often been victim of such contacts being this the main reason of some dropouts and less advanced places.
Anyway, the highlight of the year is without doubt the conquest of the title of World Champion teams for Vitaphone Racing Team.

2009
A very difficult year for Miguel Ramos.
For the third consecutive year at the Vitaphone Racing Team everything predicted a good season in the FIA GT. A multitude of hazards, some of them inexplicable, made the goals for the season become increasingly distant. The biggest setback was when he withdrew SPA, leading the race, with "a broken wheel rim." Three pole positions and four presences on the podium were not enough for better than a sixth place in the final standings. The season was saved with the 5th consecutive title for the team classification.
In 2009, Miguel Ramos was invited by the British team Aston Martin Racing to join the team as Official Rider in the LMS. A calendar with only five races, but where consistency is a key factor, was unlucky to Miguel Ramos. After an initial run less achieved, with some ups and downs throughout the season, Miguel Ramos finished the LMS in sixth position. Although the main result was a podium finish in Germany, Ramos finished the tournament in sixth place, having been a key part for the team excellent performance, earning the titles of brands and manufacturers.

2008
Miguel Ramos completes the FIA GT Championship in an excellent 3rd place.
Keeping in Vitaphone Racing Team in 2008, Miguel Ramos was present at the FIA GT Championship. He made another brilliant season in this important discipline of motor sport. An excellent win at Nogaro in early October, was one of the highlights of the season, coupled with three appearances on the podium (3 second places, including an excellent second place in the 24 hours of SPA).
Anyway, Miguel Ramos contributed indelibly to the success of "Vitaphone Racing Team," which again obtained the title in teams the category (this time for the 4th consecutive year), won the drivers title by the other team formation, and the third place achieved by Miguel Ramos, so it could hardly be a better season.

2007
The 2007 season was the best achieved, but also the most difficult for the Portuguese pilot.
Miguel Ramos finished the FIA GT Championship in 4th place with 54 points, one point behind third and 3 points from the 2nd place. Demonstrating an enormous competitiveness, the Portuguese driver, competed the first place until the last race, having demonstrated to be very competitive in various races, standing out a brilliant victory in Brno (the first in the FIA GT), which combined with a clean and constant driving allowed him an enormous consistency so that he was the only driver from the World Cup to score in all races (but in the top five in seven of them).

2006
In 2006, Miguel Ramos integrated the most competitive GT World Championship - the FIA GT - driving an Aston Martin DB9R in the GT1 class. The Portuguese driver finished the season in 12th place, helping the team "BMS Scuderia Italia" to secure the 2nd place in teams category.
Also in 2006 competed in some races of the Italian GT Championship with a Maserati MC12, scoring two wins and one second place, accumulating 38 points.

2005
2005 another competitive year for Miguel Ramos. The Italian GT Championship brought together the best Italian manufacturers, showing the great interest and the level of this competition and Miguel has not defrauded expectations, fighting to the last race to win the championship.
With the same Ferrari 550 Maranello, the Portuguese pilot stood up for the national flag colors on the GT1 category at Le Mans Endurance Series and participated in 4 of 5 races, achieved victory in SPA's 1000km and two second places in the 1000km of Nurburgring and Istanbul.

2003 - 2004
The following seasons (2003 and 2004) were filled with challenges. He had as opponents some of the best racing drivers, some of them Formula 1 drivers in the past. Miguel Ramos participated in the prestigious and very popular in the media FIA GT Championship.
Various vagaries of competition prevented some deserved podiums, but seven appearances in the Top 10 was proof of his undeniable value as a pilot. Still in 2004 he participate in the Le Mans Endurance Series Championship with a prototype of the RML Team, an MG Lola, achieving to the team the 5th position in the championship.

2002
2002 was the year of a new switch-over in his career, leaving single-seater and going for GT where he finally consecrated in this difficult and competitive world of GT. With a Saleen, Miguel Ramos wins the Spanish GT Championship, having as his colleague the Portuguese pilot Pedro Matos Chaves.
2002 also marks his first participation in the mythic 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Nash Motorsport Team, getting the 5th position in GT.

2001
In 2001, Miguel Ramos participated in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship, ending the season in 10th place. A positive result, taking into account a number of problems experienced during the year, as well the greatest experience of all opponents.

1999 - 2000
In 1999 and 2000, Miguel Ramos makes a radical change in career; he decides to pass to the single-seater and participates in the Toyota Super Formula. The inexperience in this type of vehicles coupled with the fact that he has integrated a very modest team, did not stop him from consistently being one of the ten fastest drivers and get a podium in 2000.

1998
In 1998, Miguel Ramos decides to participate in the Superturism Italian Championship in a BMW 320i. In addition to the difficulties inherent to all circuits being new and some bad luck throughout the season, he finishes in the sixth place of the competition reserved for private pilots after earning five presences in the podium.

1997
The success achieved in the Trophy BMW M3, motivated him to participate in the national championship of speed, even with a BMW M3, with the support of the national importer of the brand. With a sequence of three winnings in this season, finishing third absolute place in the championship, he will finish the season in the Guia Race in Macau, where he is the best Portuguese on the track.

1994 - 1996
Unsatisfied, in 1994 Miguel Ramos did not resist the appeal and fascination of speed in closed circuits and the possibility of competing in BMW M3 Trophy, where the best Portuguese drivers of those times pontificated. This Trophy BMW M3 was the most competitive and exciting competition single brand that has ever been organized in Portugal. During three seasons (1994/1995 and 1996), Miguel Ramos drove the powerful BMW M3 on the National tracks and his talent was recognized in 1996 when he got to aim for victory in the competition organized by the importer of the German brand in an unquestionably and dominant way as he won nine of the races.

1991 - 1993
Miguel Ramos started his sporting career in 1991. He had at the time 18 years and began in autocross. During three seasons has collected a number of victories that allowed him the conquest of two national titles in 1992 and 1993.
